Join Fort Calgary in the Burnswest Theatre for a night at the movies! Grab snacks and a cocktail at this licensed event, and enjoy a classic black and white movie in Fort Calgary’s newly renovated theatre.

Doors open at 6:00 PM, so come early to reserve your seat and take a look at Fort Calgary’s Museum. The movie will start at 7:00 PM.

The Manchurian Candidate is a 1962 classic suspenseful thriller, directed and produced by John Frankenheimer and written by George Axelrod. The film is based upon the 1959 novel The Manchurian Candidate by Richard Condon.

It stars Frank Sinatra, Laurence Harvey and Janet Leigh, it tells the story of a platoon of American soldiers who are captured and brainwashed during the end of the Korean war by communists, upon returning home Captain Bennet Marco (Frank Sinatra) is plagued by terrible nightmares, together Marco and his fellow soldiers uncover the secret underlying plot.

This classic political thriller won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress and in 1994 was selected for preservation by the United States National Film Registry for being culturally, historically and significant.
